RESPONSIBILIITES
The role is to be the technical guardian for extended platform support of Global GS services / systems deployed in Switzerland that are based on Global GS Technologies and Products predominantly running on a Swiss onshore instance of the Firm’s Windows- / Middleware-/ and Linux-Platform.
The engineer will be responsible for implementation and deployment (incl. minor development tasks and technical adaptions) and the full maintenance and upgrades of various infrastructure services, products and user data platform running on the Swiss Platform
Responsibilities include:
• Take a central role in the implementation, deployment, running and maintaining of our foundational infrastructure / data systems infrastructure in Switzerland
• Analyse and resolve issues in production environments
• Develop effective solutions around process automation to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention
• Liaise with global product engineering teams in Foundational Infra and Site Reliability Engineering and contribute to improvements in monitoring, support and upgrade procedures of products and processes
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Experience with SDLC and Github/Gitlab.
• Familiar with Shell Scripting and Python.
• Familiar System Administration tasks, preferably incl. Linux / Unix or alternatively Windows
• Familiar with central data logging solutions, experience with SPLUNK is desirable.
• Familiar with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Familiar with networking concepts, routing and firewalls.
• Ability to work effectively with a globally distributed team, while able to operate independently.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas and solutions
